Transportation Service for Hotel Guests to the Hobbs Airport

Hobbs Express and the City of Hobbs is happy to announce that they will be shuttling people to and from the airport to their hotel in Hobbs. Details below:

 

Beginning February 1, 2016, Hobbs Express will undertake a 90-day trial period to provide transportation to and from the Hobbs Airport for departures and arrivals for all United Airlines flights. Below are the details of the guidelines which will be used during this time:

Rides to the Airport for an Outbound Flight

 

  1. Passengers or a Hotel Representative must call Hobbs Express in advance to schedule a ride to the airport. Reservations should be made as far in advance as possible and may only be scheduled during regular business hours, Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, by calling (575) 397-9290.
  2. Passengers must be ready and waiting in the lobby area for the bus to arrive. Hobbs Express will start at the northernmost hotel to begin picking up passengers and will then proceed southbound until all passengers are picked up at all requested hotels before proceeding to the airport. Bus service may have to begin as early as 2½ hours prior to flight departure to allow for the pickup of all passengers. Ride times will be provided at the time the reservation is scheduled and may be adjusted depending on the number of passengers.
  3. If a ride needs to be cancelled, the passenger and/or the Hotel Representative is responsible for calling Hobbs Express as early as possible to cancel a ride. Ride cancellations may be done after hours via voice messaging at (575) 397-9290. Ride scheduling is only available during regular business hours.
  4. Hobbs Express enforces a strict Ano show@ policy. If a passenger is a Ano show@ three (3) times during a thirty (30) day period, future rides will only be scheduled on a daily basis for thirty (30) days. To avoid being considered a “no show”, passengers must cancel any ride that is not needed.

Rides from the Airport on an Inbound Flight

  1. Hobbs Express will arrive at the airport for each incoming United Airlines flight. If the flight is cancelled, the bus service will also be cancelled. If the flight is delayed, Hobbs Express will make every attempt to get to the airport at the revised arrival time.
  2. Passengers should exit the plane, retrieve baggage (if any) and move quickly to the bus for immediate departure. Once the bus leaves the airport, it will not return for late passengers.

 

General Policy Information

  1. Hobbs Express will not operate on City observed holidays.
  2. Hobbs Express will not operate during times of inclement weather when it is deemed unsafe by the City Manager, Police Chief or designee.
  3. Drivers do not accept tips and do not handle baggage.
  4. If an inbound or outbound flight is cancelled, the bus service for that flight will also be cancelled.
  5. Scheduled ride times may require adjustment to accommodate the number of passengers or large groups.
  6. Hobbs Express will make every attempt to get all passengers to the airport in the time allotted.
  7. During the trial program, these guidelines are subject to change based on service usage.
  8. Fare cost is designated at $5.00 per person. Drivers usually do not carry change so passengers are requested to have the exact fare. Credit card payments can be made over the telephone during regular office hours Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm by calling (575) 397-9290. Once fares are paid, no refunds will be given.
  9. Frequent passengers or hotels may wish to purchase a bus pass for convenience purposes. Airport bus passes are available at a cost of $50.00 for 10 trips or $100.00 for 20 trips with no expiration.
